Four New Vinyls: Ballantynes - The
React! - Tranzmitors - The Radii
Vancouver was recently been graced with a stellar four band vinyl
release party presented by Vancouver-Victoria La Ti Da Records. They
just put out some 7-inch vinyl for: the React! Tranzmitors and
Ballantynes. Friends and like-minded musicians, Radii joined them at
the event and showcased their self-titled release of songs, a 12-inch LP recorded with Jessie Gander of the Hive Creative Labs.
Ballantynes:
Misery/Stay - Two new tracks from this soul
seven piece with dual drums! “Misery” can be related to the
months of rain we get here in Vancouver while “Stay” can get a
little romantic… Get on the floor baby!
The React!:
The Sounds That I’ve Heard /Only Living For You -
This new offshoot of the Tranzmitors is some primal 60s stomp! These
two tracks drive you wild with the savage beat and cool background
vocals; I suggest you run don’t walk to see these lads!
The Tranzmitors:
Concrete Depression/A Little Bit Closer -
The boys return with a rocking mod blast! The B-side will knock you
out with its snappy beat and romantic ode…Out of sight!
The Radii:
The Radii - This self-titled ten track album by
the new local crew the Radii really gets the sock hop going. Abbi
Fernandes on the vintage mic has a powerful and lovely voice! The
band is no slouch and ripping through this quick set of garage
stormers with some nice piano and organ blasts. “5-9 HONEY” is a
telephone romance which you should dial in! Check them out…
